ABS-CBN teleseryes > GMA teleseryes

Pagdating sa mga teleserye, ABS-CBN 2 ang panalo. Nakakainis kasi ang mga teleserye ng GMA 7. Their usual plot devices are (1) kontrabida mother-daughter pair scheme against poor bida [super overused na ito] (2)bida is wrongly accused, the schemer gets away with it during 3/4 of the series, and only gets vindicated at the very end [at sa huli pa talaga ha?] and (3)isang katutak na support system sa bida and they do nothing but cheer for him/her [support system here means best friends/relatives; okay lang sana ang madami basta may silbi naman]

Not that I’m biased about this, but that is what’s happening in GMA 7’s teleseryes. Mabagal ang phasing. Unlike in ABS-CBN 2, the phasing is considerably quick. Take Tayong Dalawa, Katorse, and Dahil May Isang Ikaw for instance. Bihira lang lagi ang “maling akala” issues dito. ‘Yung tipong nasakdal ‘yung bida dahil sa maling akala. Atsaka hindi unreasonable ang conflicts sa mga serye na nabanggit. And the string of actors in ABS-CBN is stellar, too. Even the wardrobe.

In fairness to GMA 7, magaling sila kumuha ng puso ng masa. Handa silang ibaba ang kalidad ng mga serye nila para magustuhan ng general public ang gawa nila. They resort to stereotypes in order for the avid television subscribers, which are usually housekeepers, housewives, and from the lower middle classes, to patronize their work. Aminin natin na ang madalas manuod ng local TV ay ang mga nabanggit sa taas. Pagdating naman sa fantaseryes and adaptations, saludo ako sa GMA 7. Encantadia and Stairway to Heaven are good pieces of evidence on that matter.

Ayun lang. Napa-post ako nu’ng nakita ko ‘yung post about Claudine Barretto’s transfer to GMA 7. Drama princess daw siya, right? Kaya ayun, napa-comment lang.
